I love Korean food because they give you those small dishes with your order, unfortunately, most places do not give you the fried whole fish with those small dishes. Out of all the small dishes, I like the fried whole fish the best.
So far the only Korean Restaurant near my neighborhood that includes the fried fish in their collection of small dishes is Tofu House in Cupertino Village.

My friends and I are throwing a party and went to Mountain View to check out Xanh. We wanted to try the food and review the atmosphere first hand so we decided to just have dinner there.

These pictures are the dishes we ordered.

  1. Spicy Tuna Roll
  2. Kobe Beef Roll
  3. Garlic Prawn Noodles
  4. Crab Martini
  5. Banana Leaf Sea Bass
  6. Duck
  7. Shaking Beef
  8. Chocolate Cube
  9. Sorbet

My favorite was definitely the shaking beef. It was surprisingly tender and juicy. It literally surprised me when I took my first bite. My other favorite is the Crab martini. It crab, cucumbers, avocado and onions mixed in a white sauce with lemon juice. You eat it with chips so I guess its sort of like a seafood dip for your chips.

The Sea Bass and Duck was pretty mediocre. Definitely not worth it for the price. As for the other items, it was good but not too memorable. Although I did remember liking the ahi tuna, but it was nothing special. You can get that anywhere. But this place is still worth the try. Just make sure you stick with the yummy items!

Ever drive by and see a place called Ringer Hut and think to yourself…did they mean Pizza Hut? Well let me answer that question for you, no they did not mean Pizza Hut and yes it is called Ringer Hut.

Ringer Hut is a popular Japanese restaurant in Japan. They are known for their Champon which is a Japanese noodle dish. Next time you see a Ringer Hut, I recommend trying it out but be sure to order their Champon!

If you are feeling frugal, try the food court next to Galleria Market on El Camino (near Lawrence Expwy). They’ve got a great selection of Korean food for a great price.

Are you sweating and dying from heat? Well, let me introduce you to Hawaiian Shaved Ice. By far the best item to purchase on a hot dry day.
But don’t mistaken this for an icy or american-style shaved ice. It’s far superior than that. The ice is fluffy and the flavor is mixed perfectly. However, make sure you put condensed milk on that. It’s what gives it that extra kick to it.
There are two places you can get it in San Jose:
Shuei-Do Manju Shop
Banana Crepe
I recommend to get the Lychee flavor with condensed milk.

If you know me, you know that I do not eat lamb. But I have to admit, I do eat lamb kabobs. I used to get lamb kabobs back in Shanghai. I loved them! I would shower my kabobs with pepper and flamin red hot chili powder. At Chinjin Easter House, I found lamb kabobs. They were tender and flavorful. As I devoured them, it took me back to the streets of Shanghai.

I am still shocked that I just now discovered these oversized potstickers. These are the master of the potstickers, at the top of the food food-chain. They will dominate all other varieties of potstickers. They are called Chinese Hamburgers. The outside is fried and the inside is filled with shredded pork and vegetables.
Not trying these in your life time could be your biggest regret. I got these two at Chinjin Easter House on De Anza Blvd in Cupertino. Yelp it if you need to find it.

Kabab and Curry’s , by far the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I found this place during my college years and they are located in a quiet neighborhood. At the first glance you think its just another apartment complex, but its really a restuarant.
When me and my friends come here, we always order chicken briyani, butter chicken, navratan korma and some naans. My favorite is the chicken briyani. I love the fact that their briyani has chicken bones in it and I can taste that the marrow has been cooked out of the bones. The marrow just gives it that extra kick to it. YUM!
